7he Myriads debut on Theomatic with the stellar ‘Betelgeuse EP’. It is a bow to the era of all-round enthusiasm for space exploration and travelling to far off galaxies that swept across Russian (then Soviet) youth in the late 70’s-early 80’s. Highly influenced by the sound of the likes of Didier Marouani’s Space and Soviet space-rock legend Zodiac (which sold 20 million copies of their albums in the USSR and lately found way to Environ’s “Unclassics” compilation), all four tracks on the EP are well charged with nostalgic analogue synth lines, powerful guitar riffs and dynamic live drums. If someone told us this was some unreleased stuff produced back in 1980, we would certainly believe…
